The town of Sodankylä and Sompio Nature Reserve are both within 50 km.Wilderness Vuotso consists of 2 cottages, each with sleeping accommodation and a wood-burning stove. One has a sauna where it is possible to heat up water from the nearby river, while the other is powered by solar panels and has a gas-powered cooking hob. There is no electricity or running water in either of the cottages.Staff at Vuotso Wilderness can provide drinking water, as well as organise use of a row boat and canoe. Other nature-related activities include hiking and bird watching.The closest restaurant, grocery store and petrol station are all 30 minutes’ drive from the cottage, while the Urho Kekkonen National Park is 50 km away.
